Building gets lots of looks

Continue to pray as our Realtor is showing the building on a regular basis. Our facility is getting lots of inquiries from local churches and businesses. As this process continues, our tentative timeline for moving to AHS has shifted. Initially our goal was to begin meeting at AHS on Easter Sunday. Because we haven’t fully met our financial goals to order the equipment we need, and are unwilling to borrow money to buy it, we felt it best to postpone our AHS launch until a later date. So last week the RPC staff met with the leadership of AHS to discuss the timeline changes. What you may not know is that Auburndale High School has been under construction since August 2009 for some much needed renovations to the campus. And while the construction wasn’t going to stop us from meeting in the Fine Arts Auditorium, it was definitely going to affect our parking situation and require us to be more flexible in how we planned to utilize some of the other spaces. We’re realizing that what was initially viewed as a frustrating delay is actually shaping up to be a benefit for us. With every day that our timeline shifts, the construction project moves that much closer to completion. Even though our initial goal was to meet in the Auditorium on Easter, God is watching over us and orchestrating our arrival at AHS to be his perfect timing.

RPC is Moving

In December 2009 during our “Revolutionary Love Campaign” our pastor, Timm Collins, announced that RPC would sell its building and begin meeting in a portable location. We have long since outgrown our facility, and aren’t going to continue to allow the size of our facility to mandate the number of people RPC can reach. As we embark on a journey to create the campus that we ultimately need, we believe our first step is to meet at the Auburndale High School Fine Arts Auditorium for a season. AHS has a beautiful 500-plus seat theater that can be rented weekly for a very reasonable rate. This facility will open up the doors for us to grow and reach more people with the good news of Jesus’ hope and forgiveness. Our current facility has been listed with a realtor and we’ve seen interest expressed in it by several parties. We are currently in the process of raising the funds needed to procure the necessary equipment to meet at AHS (about $112K). To date we’ve raised just over $44K. We know that ultimately God will provide all the funds needed for this adventure, whether it’s through our giving or the sale of our building. We’d like to encourage you to continue to give toward our Revolutionary Love Campaign. We also ask that you pray for the sale of our building and for wisdom as we move forward together in pursuit of God’s vision for us.
